ok people really getting annoyed wiith my car at the minute.
Problem is when i try to give the car some speed (espically hills) she'll reach about 3 and a half thousand revs and then there will be a miss and the engine management light will come on for a few seconds.
Had her plugged in and was apprently the 02 sensor was gone. So got a brand new vaux part...and still the same problem...brought it back to same guy and got her plugged in...this time the EGR valve popped up faulty..so got it replaced and while it seems a bit better...still the same problems...SOO! brought it out to the guy AGAIN! 02 sensor popped up...so he said must be the cat needs replacing...so got it replaced and STILL! no difference
So im stumped! Just thought maybe someone has had the same problem and could help me out? Could it be something like the throttle body needing cleaned out??
And also when i first start her up from cold she's always very sluggish until i give her a few revs
sounds like the air flow meter, its located in the middle from the air box the throttle body on 1.0lt 12v disconnect it and see how it goes, get urself 2 a breakers and get one of try vauxhall shouldnt be 2 dear
o ryt cheers lads...got the throotle body cleaned out there...gona take her a drive and see if theres any difference...if not then it has to be the air flow meter thanks again
well took the car up the hill it hates so much (prince charles way) to see if theres any differnence after cleanin out the throttle body...and much to my amazement she reached the top with out hesatating once...nor did the light come on :O Although she still didnt hit any high speeds...use to be 30 mph max while i had the problem and that consisted of going up and down the gears the whole way up lol...there tonyt she went the whole way up in 3rd gear at 40 mph...so seems good...the crossed fingers musta worked
Np dude glad it worked :), 9 times out of 10 in cars that are a few years old the throttle body is the problem that just needs a good cleaning. It a fault in its design of all cars as they can't self clean. You can also get sprays but personnal I don't like them as you have to remove the airfilter switch you're car on and rev as you you spray in the air intake, god knows what dirt you're sucking up at the same time!

spray wd40 up air intake and it will clean it for u, u hav 2 hav the car running while doing it, she will go abit lump for a few mins but be fine after that
here glenn mate how much that cost???? cuz on way home after the seacat there my accelerator got realli stiff and the same thing happened as before ffs!!! any help guys...really need help or will end up getting rid of the car :(
no some people were sayin bout that...but i was thinkin that mayb it was sumhing to do with the throttle since the acc is so stiff :S:S:S:S mayb??? reckon i shoudl get a second hand one and try that first then?
